What are the reasons and solutions for LCD light leakage?

What should I do if my LCD monitor leaks light? Many friends who use LCD monitors have encountered light leakage on their monitors. Severe light leakage can easily cause eye damage. So, today Selina will talk to you about the causes and solutions for LCD light leakage.
1. Two reasons for light leakage on monitors
The light leakage on monitors mainly occurs on the panel. Some panels are of poor quality or have problems during transportation, which will cause serious light leakage. Such panels will be inspected during the production process and are prohibited from leaving the factory. The performance of panels with light leakage is generally obvious and can be seen in normal use. The common light leakage we see is mainly caused by the frame pressing on the monitor during assembly, which is manifested as a halo around or in a corner, but such light leakage can basically not be found in ordinary use. It can only be seen when the test picture is displayed in a completely dark environment.
2. Light leakage detection method
Usually, the light leakage is all around. Adjust the entire screen to completely black, and then look at the display area around the monitor at a 45-degree angle up, down, left, and right to see if it is obviously white and whether there is light coming out of the gap.
3. The principle of light leakage
The light leakage phenomenon is caused by the structural characteristics of the LCD screen itself. It is a normal phenomenon to a certain extent. The light leakage will not affect the basic technical parameters of the TV itself, such as brightness, response time, and life. Liu Quanen, leader of the National Digital TV Reception Equipment and Performance Standards Development Working Group, pointed out that due to the different grades of LCD screens, the degree of light leakage is also different. The《General Specifications for Digital TV LCD Monitors》to be implemented on January 1, 2007 clearly stipulates that the light leakage of LCD TVs must be ≤4cd/㎡ under the full black screen.
We usually measure the technical parameters of TVs by the three basic TV colors of red, green, and blue. Based on the particularity of LCD TVs, the quality of products should be examined from the five colors of red, green, blue, white, and black when purchasing. In this way, in addition to understanding the basic parameters, it also avoids unnecessary troubles such as bad pixels, bright spots, dark spots, and light leakage when you buy products.
4. Solution to the light leakage problem
Since the light leakage caused by the frame basically does not affect normal use, no manufacturer will replace it. Generally, LCD or LED monitors will have slight light leakage during the assembly process, so you don't need to pay too much attention. Brand Monitors rarely have light leakage. The main reason is that they use the best quality panels when purchasing panels, and they are very careful during the assembly process. The design of the monitor is also excellent. Therefore, high-end monitors rarely have obvious light leakage.
If you buy a low-end monitor, there is no need to ask about the light leakage problem, because even if there is, no one will return it to you unless the problem is very serious. But if you buy a higher-end monitor, you must ask about the light leakage problem. After all, you spend a lot of money, and getting excellent service is what you deserve for spending more money.
